“Ereaga Beach”

The tournament will take place in Ereaga Beach in the district of Getxo  in the Basque Country province of Vizcaya. This beach is a well-known tourist spot with a grand connotation along with the rest of the Getxo district in which there are plenty of beautiful sights for you to see.

 

How do you get there?

 

By car:

The Ereaga Beach is easily accessable by the existing network of roads and motorways from whatever point of the Spanish peninsula or Europe.

The A8 is the main motorway which is joined by the A68 which comes from Madrid, Barcelona , Zaragoza and the E70, which comes from France, joins the A8 in direction towards Santander.

The beach also has lots of Parking space which is free.

 

By Train:

Renfe, which is the National Railway Network, connects Bilbao with all the major cities of Spain and with Europe through Hendaya or Le Herts which are on the border of France .

The main train station of Bilbao, Abando connects you directly with the metro.

 

By plane:

The Bilbao International Airport has connections to all major cities not only around Spain but also throughout Europe e.g. London Stanstead, Paris, Lisboa, Dublin and many more.

There is a shuttle service which takes you to the city centre where you can link up to the metro, trains, buses or trams.By taxi or hire car the journey to the city centre is about 15 mins.

 

By Metro:

There are six metro stations in Getxo which makes it quick and easy to get to the Vizcayan Capital of Bilbao( The Guggenheim Museum is just 17 minutes away by metro):

- Areeta – Puente Colgante (The Transporter bridge joins Getxo with Portugalete)

- Gobela – Golf Course

- Aiboa – Near the Fadura Sports Centre

- Neguri – which is the nearest to the Ereaga Beach and the El Abra Sailing Port

- Algorta – for access to the Old Port

- Bidezabal – towards Aixerrota and Andra Mari


Getxo

 

Getxo is situated in the northern part of Vizcaya and is only 15 mins away from Bilbao. It joins the Northeastern part of Spain with the Cantabrian Sea with a 10km stretch of coastline and beaches and the Nervion River.

Getxo is made up of five suburbs from west to east, Neguri, Romo, Las Arenas, Algorta and Andra Mari, each one with its own characteristics which have emerged at different times in the history of the district.

New infrastructures, such as the new port which now recieves huge cruiseliners, have provided Getxo with modern facilities for the locals to enjoy and also has prepared the township for tourists and visitors to the area.
